Artist Statement - Pacific Painting Series

 

The paintings for this series are a reaction to the place where the land meets the sea. It is in the fleeting moments that I find inspiration, and I seek to convey the sense of wonder that I experience when observing the shoreline. My process is a combination of observation and imagination. I use a variety of techniques and materials to capture the interplay of light and color.

In my work, I also hope to evoke a sense of nostalgia, inviting viewers to recall their own moments at the sea, whether it be a childhood memory or a solitary walk along the shore. I hope that my paintings serve as a visual meditation, a reminder of the peace that can be found there. Through this work, I also hope to inspire a renewed appreciation for the beauty and fragility of the natural world, encouraging viewers to take a moment to pause, reflect, and reconnect.
